FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Candle Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What ingredients go into your candles?
We use only simple, natural ingredients including 100% all natural soy wax, cotton wicks, and premium grade, phthalate-free fragrance oils. No added dyes, preservatives, or paraffin.
  • How fragrant are your candles?
Any of our candles will nicely fill a medium sized room- without being overpowering. For larger rooms and/or rooms with vaulted ceilings, we recommend that you burn two candles to achieve the same fragrance level.
  •  How long do your candles burn for?
If you follow our burning tips the candle burn times are as follows:

      Mason Jar Candles:
8-ounce mason jar candle: 45-50 hours
16-ounce mason jar candle: 85-90 hours

      Apothecary Jar Candles:
9-ounce apothecary jar candle: 45-50 hours
  • Why are there dark spots on my candle?
Soy wax naturally expands in warmer temperatures and contracts in cooler temperatures. The dark spots are where the wax has not contracted and has not pulled away from the sides of the container. This is a normal occurrence and will not affect the quality, burn, or scent of your candle.

  • Why is my candle turning a neon yellow color?
Since we do not use UV inhibitors in our candles, your candle may discolor if left exposed to direct sunlight or fluorescent lighting for an extended period of time. This occurrence is not a defect and will not affect the quality, burn or scent of your candle.

  • Why is there soot on the sides of my candle jar?
Left untrimmed any wick can produce soot. Therefore, it is important to trim the candle wick to ¼ inch before every burn. Not only will this allow your candle to burn cleanly, it will also help extend the life of your candle.

  • Why is there wet oil on the top of my candle?
Soy wax naturally expands in warmer temperatures and contracts in cooler temperatures. During extreme temperature changes (especially those caused during shipping) the wax expands and any excess fragrance oil can separate (or sweat) out from the top of the candle. This will not affect the quality, burn, or scent of your candle. Simply remove the excess oil with a dry paper towel or tissue.
